
Cédissia About
Bio
After working for 5 years in several architecture and landscape agencies, Cédissia About joined the city of Paris in 2002. First in charge of monitoring urban projects in the urban planning department, she was named the leader for sustainable development in 2006. She coordinated the drafting of the Sustainable Development for Paris reference guide, published in 2007 and updated in 2010, as well as the collection of Habiter Durable books. In 2014, Cédissia joined the Smart and Sustainable City Mission at the General Secretariat , where she is in charge of coordinating the EcoQuartier label for a selection of Parisian urban projects. Beginning in 2016, she was first in charge of ‘the building ecological transition’ program for the Public Buildings and Architecture department, and then she became head of the Innovation and Sustainable Building division. The main activities of this innovation group are the monitoring and implementation of strategic plans (Climate Plan, Biodiversity Plan, Circular Economy Plan, Resilience Strategy), the development and implementation of eco-design experiments, the eco-construction in public facilities, monitoring transformations of Oasis schoolyards, production of guides and eco-construction methods and the organization of conferences and site visits in the framework of Matinales CROCCO2.
Cedissia also lectures at various universities, including the Urbantic master’s degree program at the Ecole des Ingénieurs of the City of Paris and the MBA Smartcity at the Léonard de Vinci Institute. Associate researcher at Lab’Urba, her research activities focus on the monitoring and assessment of eco-neighbourhoods all over the world, which allowed her to publish the collective book “Re-penser la ville du XXIème siècle – 20 d’écoquartiers dans le monde”.
